Community Building Circle Training

August 20 @ 9:00 am - August 22 @ 4:00 pm

About the Training:

Community building circles are a way of intentionally building relationships. Based in indigenous practice, circles foster authentic, human connection and recognize that every person is worthy of belonging and wants to be in good relationship with those around them.

In this training, we will experience being together in circle, explore the elements of circle, and develop circle outlines.

Meet the Trainers:

Christopher Mendez received his bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University in Social Psychology. He completed his Master’s and Doctoral degrees, in Conflict Analysis and Resolution, at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Nova Southeastern University. He is trained in a variety of methods of conflict resolution and restorative practices.

Heather Kok started working with youth as an AmeriCorps Promise Fellow in 2015. She is now the Youth Services Coordinator at Community Mediation & Restorative Services, Inc. where she works with schools and young people to build community and repair relationships.
